Arched Alcove Tub Bathroom
A deep alcove soaking tub framed by a tiled arch, marble deck, chrome shower and filler, and a recessed niche — paired with subway wainscot, a marble vanity, and herringbone mosaic underfoot.
About this project
This bath was rebuilt around a new alcove soaking tub. We framed the surround, roughed-in copper supply for a full shower and tub filler set, insulated the wet walls, and formed a soft arch at the alcove opening with corner bead before finish surfaces went up. Cement backer and waterproofing prep locked in the wet area, then a white marble deck capped the tub. Classic subway tile wraps the alcove walls, the arch, and a chair-rail wainscot beyond; a two-shelf recessed niche is tiled into the side wall. Chrome fixtures cover the showerhead, handheld, and deck-height filler. Opposite the tub, a white vanity gets a matching marble top and undermount sink. Herringbone marble mosaic ties the floor through the room, and a new Marvin window over the tub brings daylight into the alcove.
